In advance of the game's release on September 10, the Visual Concepts team is providing fans with a deeper look at the game's overhauled features in NBA 2K22. This year's additions include a totally revamped 2k22 blocking system, as well as improvements to fundamentals like dribbling and shooting, in addition to the graphical upgrades.
Particularly noteworthy are the shot contest and blocking systems, which should feel vastly different from previous NBA 2K editions. According to Erick Boenisch, executive producer at Visual Concepts, both have been "totally redesigned" for NBA 2K22 and should provide players with greater control over their gameplay.
According to Boenisch, "the shooting contest and blocking algorithms were entirely redesigned, resulting in numerous novel grab blocks and volleyball spikes that had never occurred before." "The shot contest rewrite eliminated the "ghost contests" that many people had complained about, and this year, being out of position or failing to get a hand in the shooter's face will lead to some easy points for the offense," says the coach. When shooters are adequately crowded with good matches, on the other hand, they will produce a large number of bricks and airballs, which is exactly what they should." If you're more concerned with offense, you'll be pleased to know that both dribbling and shooting will appear and feel more natural – and that shooting will heavily benefit players who are able to create space and take an open shot:
"There have been significant adjustments to shooting in NBA 2K22," Boenisch stated. "There's a new shot meter with a make window that can be resized dynamically. It will grow while you are taking high-quality shots with strong shooters, but it will contract when you are highly disputed, shooting with a low-rated shooter, or when you are exhausted. This year, Shot IQ will be the most important factor in determining shooting performance.
In my opinion, the teams who work hard for open looks and take good shots will do far better than the teams that force poor attempts. Players of all skill levels have participated in extensive focus-group testing of the new shooting mechanics, and we feel this is the most natural shooting experience yet in NBA 2K."
You'll also discover a new player builder, as well as an increase in the number of badge points that are accessible for usage. Because there is so much new material to explore, be sure to check out Boenisch's latest reveal and get ready for NBA 2K22, which will launch on September 10. However, some of the most significant changes are visible, such as the way the game handles shooting. NBA 2K22 is a sports video game. A new batting meter will be installed, which will dynamically vary depending on the talents of the players under your management and whether or not their batting is contentious. According to the graphic design, NBA 2K22 will place a greater emphasis on shooting intelligence. Take the time to identify an open teammate and make a smart shot, and your chances of success will increase significantly. For players who want to rush to the basket, a new slam style creator has been added that allows them to build their dunk repertoire to their liking.
