I work in HR and I'll be honest: if two candidates have the same experience, but one has a relevant certification, I'll choose the second one. This is an indicator that a person knows how to invest in themselves and go beyond the basic level. A colleague recently shared a link: achievable.me
And I agree with almost everything. The idea that certificates are not a panacea is well explained, but they often make a difference. Especially in areas where there are no clear diplomas (for example, finance or analytics).
