Animal Crossing has now become a mass phenomenon of unbelievable proportions. Many have already bought a Nintendo Switch just to play the latest install of the game. But could that change now?
Hokko Life is the name of the Animal Crossing imitation for the PC. But what is really behind it?
ANIMAL CROSSING, BUT NOT ALL
At first glance, Hokko Life is a game that is at least strongly based on the concept of the popular Animal Crossing. The player character as the only person and the villagers in the form of different animals. It is probably one of the most famous Animal Crossing trademarks. Hokko Life has now copied this for itself. But is the new game really just a cheap copy? Or is there more to the cute game than you initially thought?
Hokko Life combines almost all the elements from Animal Crossing under one roof and brings them to the PC. So it is the main goal of the game to design your own little village according to your wishes and to make your residents as happy as possible.
You can achieve this by building beautiful houses, changing the landscape and building new objects from the resources you gain. You gain resources in various mini-games such as mining with a pickaxe or, since the latest farming update, by growing vegetables and fishing. Other activities such as insect hunting, which we already know from Animal Crossing, are also represented in Hokko Life.
But Hokko Life also brings new aspects into play. For example, like in the latest Animal Crossing, you can completely create your character yourself. From skin color to hairstyle, the choice is yours. You also have the option of adapting pieces of furniture to your own wishes in an editor. So you can individually design the position and size of cushions on a chair and much more. Other functions from Animal Crossing have only been revised. For example the editor for clothes, which in Hokko Life has a completely new, intuitive layout.
WHEN DOES HOKKO LIFE COME OUT?
Hokko Life is currently still in Early Access on Steam. This could change soon, but details are not yet available. So if you are interested in the game, we recommend adding it to your wish-list on Steam. So you will always be informed about updates!
However, if you can hardly wait and have no problem buying a game in Early Access, then it is already available for around 20 euros. However, we would like you to bear in mind that games in Early Access often come with their own problems. Early Access is used to complete the game and to get player feedback during development. So it is possible that some features of the game are not yet working properly. If you are prepared and ready to live with it, you can start enjoying the game right now!
