I was sure that I wouldn't find a finance internship in June. The competition is fierce, the best students applied in January, all the good spots are taken. But I accidentally came across this text: https://www.collegerecruiter.com/blog/2025/06/17/is-it-too-late-in-the-year-for-students-to-find-finance-internships. And you know, this is one of the few cases when a motivational article really worked.
I liked that the article doesn't contain any fluff or trivial advice like "don't give up." It clearly states that companies are still looking, especially those who have just received additional funding or are experiencing employee attrition. The author also emphasizes that June and July are the time when you can already show a completed course or project, which means you have relevant skills.
I took three pieces of advice into service:
Updated my resume by adding a fresh case.
Uploaded a financial modeling project to GitHub.
Sent out short, personalized emails to small firms.
